Time Travel: Road Warrior Selfies

I was a road warrior. I used to travel internationally for work all the time, mostly in Asia and the Middle East. Sometimes I was on the road >50% of the year. I got to explore a lot of far away places and go on lots of adventures. But the reality of traveling for work is that you spend most of your time in meetings and working in hotel rooms all by yourself. It was kind of glamorous and exciting but lonely and monotonous at the same time.

I spent a lot of time on Skype and iChat keeping up with the office and my personal life. These are some selfies I shot, mostly with the camera on my laptop when I was on the road. Looking at them all here together for the first time I am struck by how intense and deep in thought I look. I wasn’t smiling for the camera, I was just documenting how I felt.

And one of these days I’ll put together the companion post — all selfies of me in hard hats!
